Who am I?

Experience- I hold a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Cal State University, Hayward in Human Development with a specialized option certificate in Child Development.  I worked as a teacher in a large family daycare for five years and then was a licensed family daycare provider for two years while finishing up school. After I graduated, I took time off to get married and have a family of my own. When my youngest child was two years old, I went back to work as a 3-year-old preschool teacher at Baymonte Christian Preschool. I continue to take classes in Early Childhood Education to stay current in the field.

About Me- My husband and I have been married for 27 years and we have three children, two boys and a girl ages 25, 23, and 21.  My husband and I are rediscovering how to spend time without kids around all the time, going out to dinner and hanging out which we are getting very used to!  In my spare time I enjoy making video slide shows with my family photos and gardening.

This July I will be starting my eighth year of providing childcare. I love my job and look forward to many more years serving this community!  Due to the high demand for infant care and positive response to my program, I have a waiting list for infants. In order to better serve the needs of our community I am licensed for 12 children, and  specialize in caring for infants and toddlers to help prepare them to be eager learners and confident little preschoolers. My license allows me to care for four infants under two years and eight children older than two years with an assistant. My main goal is to still provide quality, loving care for the littlest of our community and I continue to look forward to filling that void here in Scotts Valley.

My Staff:

I have two assistants who work alongside me. We are all CPR and First Aid certified, have clear background checks and have been fingerprinted. Our vaccinations are all up to date, as by law. Ashley works full time, splitting her time with the Learning Workshop and the infant/toddler group. She has worked with me for over six years and has her AA in Child Development.  Laura has been with me since I opened. During the school year she works three mornings a week, helping with both the Learning Workshop and the infant toddler group. She also prepares our snacks and helps with lunch.  She has three grown children and enjoys her time in our program with these awesome young children. My children step in and help out when needed as well as a couple of college-age girls, all having been fingerprinted with clear back ground checks.
